Employer compliance review

Identify the employer obligations and process gaps relevant to your workforce and locations.

What the assignment covers

We map establishment facts, worker categories, registrations and selected HR/payroll processes. Findings identify evidence, responsible owners and corrective actions rather than presenting a generic certificate of compliance.

  1. Confirm employing entities, establishments, workforce groups and periods.
  2. Map the selected processes and evidence owners.
  3. Compare supplied records with the requirements assessed for those facts.
  4. Hand over prioritised findings and the information still needed.

Record whether a finding comes from an observed inconsistency, an unavailable document or an unresolved applicability question. Those categories can require different follow-up work.

Records to prepare securely

  • Location list
  • workforce categories
  • payroll components
  • contracts
  • registrations
  • policies
  • prior inspections.

Describe remote work, contractor deployment and changes in staffing or activity during the period. Identify the source and coverage of payroll and attendance reports. Use restricted access for employee-level records and avoid including sensitive information unrelated to the review.

A workforce detail to resolve

A head-office checklist can miss employees working in another state. Record actual work locations and the employing entity before deciding which local questions need investigation.

For a team spread across states, prepare a location schedule showing the employing entity and actual work arrangement. Reconcile that schedule to HR and payroll records before assessing local obligations. An employee’s correspondence address should not silently substitute for the facts of where work is performed.

Scope and responsibilities

The review covers agreed establishments and periods. Disputes, extensive historical reconstruction and implementation are separately scoped.

Agree the establishments, worker categories, periods, deliverables and fees in writing. Initial enquiries should omit employee identifiers, medical information and complaint records.

The completion pack can include the assessed-scope map, evidence index, findings and action owners. It identifies sampling or access limits and unresolved matters. Closing a finding requires evidence of the corrective action; a management response alone should not be presented as verified implementation.
