Identify the establishment service and authority

Chhattisgarh’s Shramev Jayate portal lists shops and establishments registration and provides links to operating procedures. Confirm the current application route for the location and activity, including any urban-administration or single-window integration. Keep the final issued certificate separate from an application acknowledgement.

A production facility, construction project or contract-worker deployment needs its own assessment. Check current amendments and commencement notifications before relying on older labour-service descriptions.

Assess labour-welfare coverage and contributions

The state Labour Welfare Board publishes establishment eligibility and contribution information, including separate employee and employer components. Identify the covered workforce and current notification before calculating payment. Do not assume management staff and other worker categories are treated identically.

Keep the board’s contribution period and payment records distinct from construction-worker welfare, unorganised-worker schemes and national social-security contributions. A beneficiary card does not substitute for an employer compliance record.

Maintain a documented payroll assessment

Record the legal basis for each state deduction, including any profession-tax question, instead of copying settings from another state. Confirm applicable rates, exemptions and effective periods before activating a deduction.

Maintain wage classifications, attendance, leave and contractor deployment evidence. Link employee records to the workplace so that a transfer into or out of Chhattisgarh triggers a jurisdictional review.

Plan industrial and premises permissions

  • Land rights, permitted use and the competent municipal or industrial-area authority.
  • Building, factory, fire and utility permissions appropriate to the activity.
  • Chhattisgarh Environment Conservation Board consent and waste requirements where relevant.
  • Mineral, food, legal-metrology or other sector permissions for the actual operation.
  • Issued conditions, inspection actions and renewal or modification responsibilities.

Example: a warehouse adding metal fabrication

Before installing a fabrication line, assess the change in process, power needs, emissions, worker safety and premises use. A warehouse registration does not establish permission for manufacturing. Keep input quantities, production output, scrap and contractor costs traceable in the accounts.

Keep inspection evidence ready

The state provides a central inspection module for relevant establishments and factories. Maintain approvals, monitoring records and corrective actions in a location-specific file. Kosha can support accounting and administrative coordination alongside the technical professionals responsible for design and statutory certification.
