Answer what you know. Leave uncertain facts as “Not confirmed” or blank to receive guidance about the missing information.

1. Your business
2. GST starting points

Turnover comparisons use the activity above. A food business may supply goods, services or both; identify that model before relying on a numeric threshold.

Use the financial year's aggregate turnover under the same PAN across India, including exempt supplies, exports and interstate supplies; exclude GST/cess and inward supplies taxed under reverse charge. This is not profit or one branch's sales. Leave blank if unknown.

This optional comparison is for businesses that have already checked the exemption conditions. If unsure, leave “Not checked / not applicable” selected and use the registration guide. Check before choosing: the exemption excludes compulsory registration, voluntary/continuing registration, specified products, and intra-state supplies in Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Puducherry, Sikkim, Telangana, Tripura or Uttarakhand. Excluded products include ice cream/edible ice, pan masala, tobacco, and specified bricks, fly-ash products and roofing tiles. Confirm the tariff description in the notifications; an unknown answer produces no comparison.

3. Your workplace

Leave blank if unknown. Assess one workplace at a time and include workers covered by the POSH Act’s employee definition, including contract and temporary arrangements. Do not count only women or only permanent payroll staff.

Reset answers

If your only service income is exempt interest or discount from deposits, loans or advances, section 22 allows that income without losing the goods-only classification. Use the goods registration guidance for that exception; do not treat it as an ordinary goods-and-services business in this comparison.

What this finder cannot decide

The worker-count check covers the POSH committee route only. The GST comparison for services or goods-and-services businesses checks the ordinary turnover threshold for the selected state group; the goods-only comparison additionally depends on your confirmed exemption conditions. Neither comparison determines EPF, ESI or final registration liability. GST aggregate turnover, compulsory-registration provisions and exemptions must be assessed together; employer coverage also depends on the applicable law and establishment facts. Several duties may overlap.
