Identify the product and responsible role
Separate manufacturer, importer, brand owner and distributor activities. Record the manufacturing site, brand, model, components and intended use. A reseller’s description is not a substitute for the technical identity needed for certification assessment.
Check each regulatory track
BIS coverage depends on the notified product category and applicable scheme. Wireless functions may introduce a separate equipment-approval question. E-waste, batteries and packaging are distinct waste streams whose applicability depends on the business’s role and products.
Keep the model evidence connected
- Specifications and model or component changes.
- Test reports and registrations with their covered scope.
- Manufacturing and importer authorisations.
- Purchase, import and sales quantities.
- Warranty returns, repairs and disposal records.
Review operations beyond the product
Assembly sites, warehouses and workforce arrangements need their own assessment. Connected devices also require a review of customer-data and vendor responsibilities. Reconcile imported and domestic stock with invoices and tax records.
An example
Replacing a power supply or adding a wireless module can change the questions for an existing model. Review the modification before relying on the original test and approval file.
Scope of support
Kosha can coordinate the document register, product mapping and reporting evidence. Laboratories, engineers and competent authorities perform technical testing and certification. No single certificate is presented as covering every legal requirement for the finished product.
Track the configuration behind each model
Keep a dated revision register connecting the model name, bill of materials, manufacturing site and technical documents. Record component substitutions and identify the batches using each configuration so the specialist can compare the proposed product with the evidence supplied.
For example, two products sold under the same marketing name may use different radio modules. Keep their specifications and supplier reports distinguishable instead of combining them into one undated product folder.
Choose support for each evidence track
BIS and product certification support starts with the exact product and manufacturing arrangement. Telecom and wireless approval support uses the radio functions and technical specifications. Share a consistent configuration record across those assignments.
E-waste EPR support starts with the entity’s role, product mapping and quantity records. Reconcile the models in reporting schedules with the purchase and sales data, keeping returns and corrections visible rather than assuming a certification file supplies every reporting input.
